This is no lacquer and no spray, just oil rubbed in by hand - hence the blackened corners and the lively maple grain showing through the colour. Every edge on \u003cstrong\u003ePolmuz\u003c\/strong\u003e drums is sanded and additionally waxed, giving the head perfect contact with the shell. The result is a clean sound across the full frequency range. This lets the whole drum resonate across its full range of tones. To minimise the risk of the drums going out of tune, each lug takes a long tension rod that seats deep inside it.
