The maple shells of this set provide complete freedom in shaping the sound, proving themselves in every musical genre. The minimalist, old-school appearance of Polmuzes refers to the brand's history and gives a vintage character.

POLMUZ Model 1 MAPLE is produced with the utmost care in our workshop in Gdynia. Due to manual finishing and high customer interest, the order fulfillment time is 1-3 months

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element upon unpacking is subject to careful inspection and checked with a keen, solderer's eye. We strive to make Polmuz known as a premium product, all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and additionally are waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge releases joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before putting on a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws screwing smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such solid quality control, individual set elements receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is made anew.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after successfully passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° beveled edge means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish on toms provides quick attack and short sustain, while rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and unconventional sound. The lacquer used to finish Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction means they look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "lifts" above the shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire assembly to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality of materials used and breaks with the disreputable reputation of the brand from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz inscription is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting system

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made of aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Bass drum claws

The claws on Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, claws and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Transparent, single-ply high-quality heads are used on the drums.

The batter heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinct Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Currently Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments that do not differ from the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
