100% Tulipwood shells

The snare drum shells from the Tulipwood series are made from 6 layers of American tulipwood, with a total thickness of 6.9 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The character of tulipwood timber gives the drums a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells is achieved through carefully selected layers of tulipwood, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° beveled edges ensure they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is a clean tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates a quick attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly—a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Tulipwood drums is of the highest quality. The beautiful, matte, clear lacquer will impress even the most discerning tastes. To highlight the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double security in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was established in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced tambourines and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are second to none compared to the best products of the competition.
