About the brand

Meinl is a popular company specializing in the production of percussion instruments. The company was founded in 1951 by Roland Meinl and initially manufactured wind instruments, expanding its offer to percussion cymbals in 1952. In the 1960s, Roland Meinl was involved in importing instruments from Japan, starting with Pearl, then focusing on importing Tama and Ibanez. Initially, the brand concentrated primarily on series dedicated to beginners, and in 1976 introduced the professional Meinl King-Beat series, which no longer exists today. It is worth noting that Meinl is the only brand that offers a series of cymbals made from the special B10 alloy – Meinl MB10.

Currently, apart from imported brands, Meinl is divided into two main divisions – Meinl Cymbals and Meinl Percussion. The former focuses primarily on percussion cymbals and related accessories, while the latter encompasses all kinds of ethnic instruments and percussion items – bongos, cajons, congas, cowbells, darbukas, didgeridoos, djembes, hand drums, maracas, shakers, tambourines and many others.
