A bit of history

NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. Natal's origins date back to 1958 when renowned British percussionist Alan Sharp couldn't find his desired sound and decided to build a kit himself—these were fiberglass bongos. Alan's instrument proved to be of such high quality that it quickly gained recognition among musicians. Continuing forward, Sharp founded the NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which very quickly achieved worldwide fame, and artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and The Rolling Stones used their flagship fiberglass instrument.

NATAL certainly didn't stop at congas but quickly moved into general percussion instruments; their acoustic kits, snare drums, and hardware continue to enjoy widespread recognition and high quality to this day.
