A bit of history

NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. Natal's origins trace back to 1958 when renowned British percussionist Alan Sharp couldn't find his desired sound and decided to build a kit himself – these were fiberglass bongos. Alan's instrument proved to be of such high quality that it quickly gained recognition among musicians. Taking it further, Sharp founded the NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which rapidly achieved worldwide acclaim. Artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and The Rolling Stones used their flagship fiberglass congas.

NATAL certainly didn't stop at congas but quickly expanded into percussion instruments in general. Their acoustic kits, snares, and hardware continue to be highly regarded and recognized for their superior quality.
