A bit of history

NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. The origins of Natal date back to 1958 when acclaimed British drummer Alan Sharp couldn't find his sound and decided to build a kit himself, though these were fiberglass bongos. Alan's instrument proved to be of such high quality that it quickly gained recognition among musicians. Following this success, Sharp founded the NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which rapidly achieved worldwide fame and their flagship fiberglass congas were used by artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple and The Rolling Stones. NATAL certainly didn't stop at congas but quickly moved into general percussion instruments, and their acoustic kits, snare drums and hardware continue to be widely appreciated for their high quality.
