A bit of history

NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. Natal's origins date back to 1958 when renowned British percussionist Alan Sharp couldn't find his signature sound and decided to build a drum set himself—these were fiberglass bongos. Alan's instrument turned out to be of such high quality that it quickly gained recognition among musicians. Following this success, Sharp founded the NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which rapidly achieved worldwide fame. Their flagship fiberglass instruments were used by artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and The Rolling Stones. NATAL of course didn't stop at congas but quickly moved into percussion instruments in general. Their acoustic drum kits, snares, and hardware continue to enjoy universal recognition and high quality to this day.
