A Little History

NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. Natal's origins date back to 1958 when renowned British drummer Alan Sharp couldn't find his desired sound and decided to build a kit himself – fiberglass congas, to be precise. Alan's instrument proved to be of such high quality that it quickly gained recognition among musicians. Taking it further, Sharp founded the NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which rapidly achieved worldwide fame. Artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and The Rolling Stones relied on their flagship fiberglass congas.

NATAL certainly didn't stop at congas but quickly expanded into general percussion instruments. Their acoustic drum kits, snare drums, and hardware continue to be highly regarded and recognized for their exceptional quality.
