A Bit of History
NATAL is a British company with a long-standing tradition. Natal's origins date back to 1958 when renowned British percussionist Alan Sharp couldn't find his desired sound and decided to build his own kit. However, these were fiberglass bongos. Alan's instruments proved to be of such high quality that they quickly gained recognition among musicians. Building on this success, Sharp founded NATAL PERCUSSION COMPANY in 1965, which rapidly achieved worldwide fame. Their flagship fiberglass congas were used by artists such as Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and The Rolling Stones.
NATAL didn't stop at congas but quickly expanded into general percussion instruments. Their acoustic drum kits, snare drums, and hardware continue to enjoy widespread recognition and high quality to this day.
