The maple shells of this set provide complete freedom in shaping the sound, performing well in every musical genre. The minimalist, old-school appearance of Polmuz drums references the brand's history and gives a vintage character.

POLMUZ Model 1 MAPLE is produced with the utmost care in our workshop in Gdynia. Due to hand-finished details and high customer interest, the order fulfillment time is 1-3 months.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a careful, experienced eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect tone of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive a custom sticker with serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty, and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The shells of the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been polished and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge cut on toms delivers quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and unconventional tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drum finishes is the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounting hardware, but the lug "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize the risk of the drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each lug has dual protection consisting of metal and nylon washers, which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's poor reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship on each drum.

Mounting system

A mounting system that doesn't interfere with the shells ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Bass drum hooks

The hooks on Polmuz set bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and hoops form one coherent unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Transparent, 1-ply high-quality batter heads are used on the drums.

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments manufacturer that is in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
