Model 3 History and Design Guidelines
Once upon a time, beyond seven mountains and forests, there lived a guy named Tomek. Tomek dreamed of being able to buy professional drums with hardware for 3500 PLN. Tomek wondered why top drum manufacturers didn't offer professional attributes on drums in this price range, because that's what he wanted to sell. Instead of waiting for salvation, he thought: hmm, I guess I have to do this myself. By pure coincidence, Tomek is a production technologist and architect, so he knew how to approach it. The design work took a long time, prototype after prototype. But there we go...
My drums had to have:
- 100% birch shells with no cheap poplar filler - done
- professionally finished edges so the head fits perfectly and tunes beautifully - done
- beautiful metal vintage-style logo, not a plastic badge - done
- solid center lugs - done
- professional suspension that doesn't penetrate the drum - done
- beautiful lacquer with visible wood grain, not cheap thin veneer - done
- I liked that blue lacquer - done
- platform base with double chain easy to mount to center lug, plus HH with spring tension adjustment - done too
- ball bearing tom holders that screw from both sides and don't sag during play - done
- authentic tone - done too
Hmm, seems like we have a success - welcome to Polmuz

Features
100% Birch Shells
The Birch series shells are made from 6 plies of birch with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mids and highs ensure great versatility across many musical styles. Full, focused tone and resonant richness are achieved through carefully selected birch plies, as well as attention to shell forming and bearing edge shape.

Bearing Edges
The 45-degree bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms deliver quick attack and short sustain, while rounded bearing edges on bass drums generate unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and exceptional tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz birch drums is of excellent quality. The gorgeous blue color fading to black will delight even the most discerning tastes. The lacquer composition and application method matches those used in higher series of recognized brands.
Chrome Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums features chrome plating. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the excellent craftsmanship of every drum.
Mounting System
A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. This construction allows for closer tom positioning, providing greater freedom and comfort.

Bass Drum Lugs
The lugs on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect the wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.
Heads
The drums feature high-quality 1-ply struck heads under the Remo brand
The bass drum heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic black head with a prominent Polmuz logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
