Brand history
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factory located in Warsaw.
The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and then the brand disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from DrumStore, a specialist drum shop from Gdynia, relaunched Polmuz by buying full rights to the name. Today Polmuz makes drum kits, ethnic instruments, cymbals and drum accessories.

We believe drums are the most spectacular instrument - they should be the centerpiece of the stage, right next to the frontman. So why not go wild and come up with something truly out there? That's exactly why Polmuz Model 1 was created: custom drums made for a specific drummer.
We build Model 1 and 2 by hand in Poland
Model 1 and Model 2 are not mass production. Every instrument is finished down to the smallest detail, handmade and one of a kind.
Shells and hardware designed for exceptionally easy tuning
We know it's hard to believe, but a Polmuz basically doesn't need tuning. Just tighten the lugs with equal tension and the drum already sings - no tedious tuning to a piano note, the fold method, or tapping near the lugs.
It's all thanks to a special plywood construction and 2×45 bearing edges:
- 2×45 bearing edge - the head touches it on a flat surface instead of a rounded one, so you can really tune low.
- Waxing and polishing - the head glides over the edge instead of catching on it.
- Narrower shell - the edge sits better against the head.
- Smooth-running lugs - they don't rub against the hoop, so tuning by simply tightening actually works.

You order a Polmuz directly from the manufacturer or from a partner store. There's no chain of middlemen along the way, so we can use high-quality components at a good price.
