Once upon a time, beyond seven mountains and forests, there lived a man named Tomek. Tomek dreamed of being able to buy professional drums for 4 thousand zloty with hardware included. Tomek wondered why top drum manufacturers don't offer professional attributes on drums at this price point, because that's what he wanted to sell. Instead of waiting for salvation, he thought: hmm, I guess I have to do this myself. As it happens, Tomek is a production technologist and architect, so he knew how to approach it. The design work took a long time, prototype after prototype. But anyway...

FEATURES

100% birch shells

The shells of the Birch series are made of 6 layers of birch with a total thickness of 6.9 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The full, focused sound and resonance richness of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected birch layers, as well as focus on shell formation and bearing edge shape.

Bearing edges

The 45° bearing edge cut ensures optimal contact with the head. Each bearing edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is a clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish on toms provides quick attack and short sustain, while a rounded bearing edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and exceptional sound character. The lacquer used on the finish of Polmuz birch drums is excellent quality. The stunning blue transparent lacquer with visible grain transitioning to black will please even the most discerning tastes. The composition and application method of the lacquer matches those used in the high-end series of renowned brands.

Chrome hardware

All hardware in Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and hallmark of excellent craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting system

Non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. This construction makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort.

Bass drum lugs

The lugs on Polmuz drum sets are equipped with rubber washers that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tunings.

Heads

The drums feature premium single-ply coated heads under the Remo brand

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. The resonant heads feature a distinctive black head with a prominent Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factory was located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality drum set and ethnic instruments brand, no different from the best competition products. Bold design combined with proven solutions caused Polmuz to storm not only the Polish drum market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
