Model 3 History and Design Guidelines

Once upon a time, beyond seven mountains and forests, there lived a drummer named Tomek. Tomek dreamed of being able to buy a professional drum kit for 4 thousand PLN with hardware. Tomek wondered why top drum manufacturers didn't offer professional attributes on drum kits in this price range, because that's what he wanted to sell. Instead of waiting for salvation, he thought... hmm, I guess I need to do this myself. By pure coincidence, Tomek is a production technologist and architect, so he knew how to approach it. The design work took a long time, prototype after prototype. But anyway...

My drum kit should have:

  • 100% birch shells without cheap poplar fillers - done
  • professionally finished bearing edge so the head sits well and tunes beautifully - done
  • beautiful metal vintage-style logo, not a plastic badge - done
  • undrilled center hole - done
  • non-invasive professional tom suspension - done
  • beautiful lacquer with visible wood grain or thick high-quality veneer - done
  • footplate with double chain easy to mount to the center, plus HH with spring tension adjustment - done too
  • ball bearing tom holders that screw from both sides and don't sag during playing - done
  • Authentic sound - done too

Hmm, I think we have success - you know, Polmuz

FEATURES

100% birch shells

The Birch series shells are made from 6 plies of birch with a total thickness of 6.9 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and treble tones ensure great versatility across many music styles. The full, focused tone and resonance richness of the shells were achieved through the careful selection of birch plies, as well as attention to shell forming and bearing edge shape.

Bearing Edges

The 45° bearing edge cut ensures optimal contact with the head. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finishing on tom shells provides quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded bearing edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage tone.

The lacquer finish on Polmuz drums gives each kit a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Birch drums is of excellent quality. The stunning blue color transitioning to black will delight even the most discerning tastes. The lacquer composition and application method meet the standards used in the high-end series of renowned brands.

Chrome Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and a hallmark of the excellent craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting System

Non-invasive shell mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. This design allows tom positioning closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort.

Bass Drum Claws

The claws on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect wooden rims from damage. In this configuration, the claws and rims form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Pure 1-ply high-quality coated heads are used on the drums under the Remo branding

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic black head with a distinct Polmuz logo.
