History of Model 3 and design guidelines
Once upon a time, far far away, there lived a guy named Tomek. Tomek dreamed of being able to buy such professional drums for 3500 PLN with hardware. Tomek wondered why top drum manufacturers don't offer professional attributes to drum kits in this price range, because that's what he wanted to sell. Instead of waiting for salvation, he thought, hmm, I guess I have to do this myself. By pure coincidence, Tomek is a production technologist and architect, so he knew how to approach it. Design work took a long time, prototype after prototype. But what the heck...
My drums should have:
- 100% birch shells without cheap poplar admixture - done
- professionally processed bearing edge for perfect head seating and excellent tuning - done
- beautiful metal logo in vintage style, not a plastic badge - done
- non-drilled lugs - done
- non-intrusive professional mounting system - done
- beautiful lacquer with visible wood grain, not cheap thin wrap - done
- I really liked that blue lacquer - done
- pedal platform with double chain easy to mount to the lugs, plus HH with spring tension adjustment - also done
- threaded ball tom holders from both sides that don't sag while playing - done
- authentic sound - also done
Hmm, I think we have success - welcome Polmuz

FEATURES
100% birch shells
The Birch series shells are made from 6 layers of birch with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced midrange and treble provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, focused tone and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected birch layers, as well as attention to shell shaping and bearing edge design.

Bearing edges
The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been carefully sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is pristine tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms deliver quick attack and short sustain, while rounded bearing edges on bass drums produce unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish
Polmuz drums' lacquer finish gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Polmuz Birch series is of excellent quality. The gorgeous blue color fading to black will impress even the most discerning tastes. The composition and application method match those used in high-end series from renowned brands.
Chrome hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with chrome plating. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate guarantees and showcases the excellent craftsmanship of each drum.
Mounting system
The non-intrusive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. This design allows toms to be positioned closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort.

Bass drum lugs
The lugs on Polmuz drum sets are equipped with rubber washers that help protect the wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.
Drumheads
The drums feature high quality 1-ply coated drumheads branded as Remo
Bass drum heads feature an additional wide muffling collar. The resonant heads feature a distinctive black head with a clear Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factory located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also manufactured percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.
Today Polmuz offers high quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that match the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish drum market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
