Polmuz Birch Snare 14x6.5
Snare drums of the revived Polmuz brand bear no resemblance to their prototypes from the past century. Today Polmuz is above all bold design combined with proven and solid technologies known from the products of the best brands.
Groundbreaking, unconventional designs, high quality workmanship and convincing sound mean that today the tradition of Polmuz is beginning anew!
QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked as there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is manufactured anew.
Features
100% birch shells
The shells of the Birch series are made from 6 layers of birch with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The full, focused sound and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected birch layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45° beveled edge means they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish
The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of applying the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets from recognized brands.
Chrome hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums features a chrome finish. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.
Snare mechanism
Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and springs
Polmuz snares feature coated, single-ply heads of high quality. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven elements with 20 coils that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe has been enhanced with a traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.
Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competing products. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
