Features

100% birch shells

The Birch series shells are made from 6 plies of birch with a total thickness of 6 mm. Sound was the top priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mids and highs provide great versatility across many music styles. The focused, clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected birch plies, along with attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bevel on the edge means it meets the drumhead at the optimal point on a flat surface, making tuning incredibly easy.

Many contemporary companies cut the bearing edge so that the contact point with the head falls on the head's roundover. This makes tuning much harder, especially for the so-called "rag" sound.

Every bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and the shell. The result is a clean sound across the full frequency range. The sharp bearing edge finish means a fast attack and selective, articulate decay.

Finish

The matte finish on Polmuz drums gives every kit a unique look and a distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the finish of Birch drums by Polmuz is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional lugs, but the lug body "floats" above the shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole drum to resonate across its full range of sound. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that seats deep into the lug. In addition, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

On Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful look gives a sense of the highest quality of materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a genuine statement of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome-plated lettering Polmuz is both a guarantee and a hallmark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Mounting system

The mounting system, which doesn't interfere with the shells, ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. Its streamlined design makes it easier to set toms closer together, giving greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made of aluminum keep the weight down.

Bass drum claw hooks

The hooks on Polmuz bass drums are fitted with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this setup, the hooks and hoops form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tunings.

Drumheads

The drums feature Evans batter heads. G2 clear on the toms and floor toms, and Emad on the bass drum. Any Evans heads can be ordered for the set.

The TT and FT resonant heads are thin Polmuz Clear. The bass drum resonant head is Polmuz Fiberskin, which delivers excellent skin-like tone.

The batter heads on the bass drums additionally feature a wide muffling collar. The resonant heads, meanwhile, stand out with a characteristic vintage-style head bearing the distinctive Polmuz logo.
