Polmuz Birch Snare 14x6.5 Blue Black Fade lacquer

The snare drums of the revived Polmuz brand bear no resemblance to their prototypes from the previous century. Today Polmuz is primarily about bold design combined with proven and solid technologies, known from products of the best brands.

Breakthrough, unconventional designs, high quality craftsmanship and convincing sound make Polmuz's tradition begin anew!

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection and checked with a careful, expert eye upon unpacking. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product – all shell edges must be perfectly even and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge releases joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect tone of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such solid quality control, individual set elements receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

Features

100% birch shells

The Birch series shells are made from 6 plies of birch with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, focused tone and resonance richness of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected birch plies, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

A 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result is clean tone across the full frequency range. The rounded bearing edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly – a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

Polmuz drum lacquer finishes give each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. A gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its circumference using an inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier kits from renowned brands.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the tone depending on the situation.

Drumheads and springs

The drums feature coated, single-ply heads of high quality. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic tone, free of unwanted overtones. The distinctive red spring strap has been enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the brand

Polmuz – a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion shakers and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz offers high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
