Features

100% birch shells

The Birch series shells are made from 6 plies of birch with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, focused tone and resonance richness of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected birch plies, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

A 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result is clean tone across the full frequency range. The rounded bearing edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly – a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

Polmuz drum lacquer finishes give each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. A gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its circumference using an inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier kits from renowned brands.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the tone depending on the situation.

Drumheads and springs

The drums feature coated, single-ply heads of high quality. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic tone, free of unwanted overtones. The distinctive red spring strap has been enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
