Premium bubinga - a storm of grain.
Bubinga is a dark, heavy and dense wood, and acoustically it's something special: huge low end, strong projection and a very clear attack. It's our top-shelf material. The density of the wood lets us cut an ultra-sharp bearing edge, which has a big impact on tuning and gives you a modern, focused sound.
This kit got the premium treatment: quilted bubinga, in other words bubinga with a storm of grain. The figure ripples and shifts with every movement of the light, and the dark fade at the edges adds depth. You can't repeat a pattern like this - no two pieces of ply are identical, every shell comes out different and that's how it stays.
The thin 4.8 mm shells mean bubinga isn't just a rock instrument here - it sounds versatile. Configuration: two 22" bass drums, 10" and 12" toms, 16" floor tom. Gold logo, chrome hardware, everything polished to a high gloss.

Features
Bubinga shells
Bubinga is a dark, heavy and dense wood. It delivers a huge low end, strong projection and a well defined attack. Thanks to the density of the wood we can cut an exceptionally sharp bearing edge, which makes tuning easier and gives a modern, focused sound. The thin 4.8 mm shells make bubinga sound versatile, not just rock oriented.
Bearing edges
Cutting the edges at a 45° angle means they meet the head at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums is sanded and additionally waxed, which guarantees perfect contact between the head and the shell. The result is a clean sound across the full frequency range. A sharp contact edge on the toms gives fast attack and short decay, while a rounded edge on the bass drums produces a unique, warm vintage tone.
Finish
Every Polmuz finish is made by hand in our workshop in Gdynia, so each kit has its own one of a kind colour and wood grain pattern.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug lugs are a signature feature of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional hardware, but the body of the lug "floats" above the shell to minimise contact with the drum. This lets the whole instrument resonate across the full range of frequencies. To minimise the risk of the drums going out of tune, each lug uses a long tension rod that seats deep inside it. On top of that, every rod has double protection in the form of two washers - metal and nylon - which keep the tuning stable.
Chrome hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums comes with a chrome finish. The beautiful look reflects the top quality of the materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years ago. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a real statement of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome Polmuz badge is both a guarantee and a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every single drum.
Mounting system
The mounting system does not interfere with the shells, ensuring maximum resonance and stability in any conditions. Its streamlined design makes it easier to set the toms closer together, giving you more freedom and comfort. What is more, the parts are made of aluminium, which keeps the weight down.
Bass drum claws
The claws on the bass drums of Polmuz kits come with rubber gaskets that help protect the wooden hoops from damage. In this setup the claws and hoops work as one consistent whole, so they do not separate or rattle, even at low tunings.
Drumheads
The drums are fitted with high quality, clear, single ply batter heads.
The bass drum heads also feature a wide muffling ring. The resonant heads, in turn, stand out with their distinctive vintage style look and a clear Polmuz logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
