With the first snow, it's time for a winter session. Today's model is the classic maple Polmuz Model 1, with sizes 20x16 10x8 12x9 16x16, shell thickness 5mm. The most popular color this autumn is Satin Brown showing wood grain in a satin, silky finish. The entire set is protected from the inside with oil and wax and additionally uses stainless steel screws. When crafting these drums, I used a special method to reveal the grain of this beautiful wood. How does this happen ????? – that's, of course, Polmuz's secret. BD hoops hide the natural maple color inside.

Features
100% maple shells
The Maple series shells are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high frequencies provide great versatility across many music styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through carefully selected maple plies and focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges
The 45° bevel on the edges ensures they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been ground and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. This results in a clear sound across the full frequency range. Sharp edge finishing on tom bearing edges creates a quick attack and short sustain, while a rounded edge on bass drum generates a unique, warm vintage tone.
Finish
The matte finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for finishing Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire set to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep within it. Additionally, each is protected by dual washers – metal and nylon – which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome hardware
In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks from the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.
Mounting system
The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, aluminum components provide lower weight.
Bass drum lugs
The lugs on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber washers that help protect wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.
Heads
Transparent, 1-ply heads of high quality are used in the drums.
The batter heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
