Features

Shells made 100% from sycamore

Snare drum shells in the Jawor Made in Poland series are made from 5 plies of sycamore wood with a total thickness of 7,8 mm. The top priority in designing Polmuz drums was the sound. Sycamore gives a warm tone similar to North American maple. Something interesting happens in every band: enough bass, a top end that's easy on the ear, and a rich midrange that isn't scooped at all. By using all-horizontal plies and very high pressure while compressing them, we achieved a very focused, loud and slightly harder sound that works very well under microphones in the studio and on stage.

Edges

Cutting the edges at a 45° angle makes them contact the drumhead at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, thereby ensuring perfect contact between the drumhead and the shell. The result of this solution is a clean sound across the full frequency range. The roundededgeinPolmuzsnare drums generates a fast attack, balanced resonance, and above all - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish

The oiled finish of the PolmuzJawor snare drum gives it a unique look and distinctive sound. The process is carried out with the utmost precision and care, which results in an excellent visual effect and beautifully highlights the tonal qualities of the wood. The rare Blue to Natural fade finish will delight even the most discerning tastes. What makes this model exceptional is the oiling, which gives it a satin finish with an almost velvety feel to the touch.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional lugs, but the lug body "floats" above the shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole drum to resonate across its full range of sound. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that seats deep into the lug. In addition, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

On Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful look gives a sense of the highest quality of materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a genuine statement of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome-plated lettering Polmuz is both a guarantee and a hallmark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating strainer. The ability to adjust snare wire tension allows the sound to be tailored to the situation.

Drumheads and snare wires

The drums feature coated,single-ply batter heads of high quality under Polmuz branding. The snare wires used in Polmuz snare drums are proven 20-strand elements that work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum produces a characteristic sound, free of unwanted overtones. The distinctive red snare wire strap features the traditional white Polmuz logo.

The Polmuz Jawor Made in Poland line is fitted with top-quality Evans drumheads and PureSound snare wires.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
