Features

100% Maple shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and treble tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specificity of the wood gives the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bevel on the edges means they contact the head at an optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snare drums generates a quick attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly—a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created along its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug-style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "hovers" above the drum shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole thing to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each lug features a long screw that seats deeply into the lug. Additionally, each lug has dual protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the unfortunate reputation the brand had years ago. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship on every drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature coated, 1-ply batter heads of high quality bearing the Polmuz brand. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven components with 20 coils that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound, free from unwanted overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe is enhanced with a traditional white Polmuz logo.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
