Features

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority in designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells are achieved through carefully selected layers of maple, as well as careful attention to shell formation and edge shape.

Bearing Edges

The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums is carefully sanded and waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clean tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms deliver quick attack and short decay, while the rounded edge on bass and floor toms generates unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a distinctive look and exceptional tone. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning gold color in the sparkle version will delight even the most discerning tastes. The composition and application method of the lacquer matches those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design looks like traditional mounting hardware, but the lug body "floats" above the shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that seats deeply into the lug. Additionally, each lug has dual security washers—one metal and one nylon—that guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's checkered past reputation. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship on every drum.

Mounting System

The shell-friendly mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Bass Drum Spurs

The spurs on Polmuz drum sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect wooden hoops from damage. In this design, the spurs and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Drumheads

The drums feature coated, single-ply batter heads of high quality bearing the Polmuz brand.

The batter heads on the bass drum additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
