Features
100% Maple Bodies
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midtones and high frequencies ensure great versatility across many music styles. The specific character of the wood gives the drums a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and pure sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple plies and attention to shell formation and edge shape.
Edges
The 45-degree edge bevel ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly – a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using an inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug housing "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full sound spectrum. To minimize the risk of tuning instability, each lug features a long bolt that seats deep within it. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of metal and nylon washers, guaranteeing tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
In Polmuz drums, all hardware features a chrome finish. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Crafted from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.
Snare Mechanism
Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly functioning snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the tone depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
The drums feature coated, 1-ply batter heads of high quality under the Polmuz brand. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic tone free of unwanted overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe is enhanced with a traditional white Polmuz logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
