QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Every percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection after unpacking and checked with a keen, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ceremony of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head—not to mention the ease of drum tuning and the perfect shell resonance. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because nothing is more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set components receive a custom sticker with a serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be discovered, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums comes with a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells are achieved through carefully selected maple plies, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bearing edge allows them to contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish on toms provides fast attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and unconventional tone. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounting hardware, but the lug "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the shell to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each contains a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has dual protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unsavory reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting system

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Bass drum hooks

The hooks on Polmuz set bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, the hooks and rims form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

High-quality transparent, single-ply batter heads are used on the drums.

Resonant heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market but also capture the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
