POLMUZ Model 1 MAPLE is manufactured with the utmost care in our workshop in Gdynia. Due to hand-finishing and high customer demand, delivery time is 1-3 weeks.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the top series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each drum element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product – all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during that traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head – not to mention the ease of tuning and the perfect shell resonance. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, each set component receives an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If any defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty, and hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through carefully selected maple plies, as well as focus on shell formation and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums is sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp edge finishing on tom bearing edges produces a quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound character. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lugs

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each is secured with dual washers – metal and nylon – guaranteeing tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

Polmuz drums feature fully chrome-plated hardware. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz name is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Mounting system

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Bass drum hoops

The hoops on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, the hoops and rims form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Polmuz drums are equipped with clear, single-ply struck heads of high quality.

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - the legendary brand that produced Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with facilities located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and the brand subsequently disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that match the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have enabled Polmuz to storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
