Features
100% maple shells
The shells of the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell formation and edge shape.

Edges
A 45° edge cut ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been ground and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is a clear sound across the full frequency range. Sharp finish of the bearing edge on tom drums provides fast attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.
Finish
The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used to finish Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The beautiful pink color will delight even the most discriminating tastes. The lacquer composition and application method corresponds to those used in top sets from renowned brands. The Shell Pink color is inspired by the iconic color of Fender guitars.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional hardware, but the lug hardware "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each has a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each is secured with double safety in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome hardware
In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's notorious reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.
Mounting system
A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.
Bass drum claws
The claws on the bass drums of Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this design, claws and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.
Heads
The drums are equipped with Evans Calftone and Polmuz resonant heads of high quality.
The head on the bass drum additionally has a wide Calftone EMAD muffling collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
