QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each drum component is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a careful, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set components receive a custom label with serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing testing, receives a lifetime warranty, and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The shells of the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many music styles. A full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as careful attention to shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° edge cut means they contact the head at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp finishing of the contact edge on toms provides quick attack and short decay, while a rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used for finishing Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell, allowing minimal contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum tuning slipping, each contains a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true statement of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction allows toms to be positioned closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Bass drum claws

The claws in Polmuz set bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, claws and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Transparent, single-ply struck heads of high quality are used in the drums.

The resonant heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads stand out with a characteristic vintage-style head featuring the distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska 75/77 street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion store DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to storm not only the Polish percussion market but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
