POLMUZ Model 1 MAPLE is produced with the utmost care in our workshop in Gdynia. Due to manual finishing and high customer demand, the order delivery time is 1-3 months.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each element of the drum kit undergoes careful inspection after unpacking and is checked with a keen, lutier's eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product, all shell edges must be perfectly even and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming high drum quality. If a defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is produced again.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

100% maple shells

The shells of the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells is achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell shaping and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge bevel ensures they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been ground and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head contact with the shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp finishing of the contact edge in toms provides quick attack and short sustain, while a rounded edge in bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used for the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug type lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows everything to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum tuning slipping, each one has a long screw that seats deep in the lug. Additionally, each has dual security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which ensure tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality of materials used and breaks with the notorious reputation of the brand from years past. Cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz name is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum provide lighter weight.

Bass drum hooks

The hooks on Polmuz set bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the hooks and hoops form one coherent whole so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tunings.

Heads

The drums use transparent, 1-ply struck heads of high quality.

The membranes on the bass drums additionally have a wide damping collar. The resonant heads feature a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinct Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, a team of specialist percussion shops DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality drum set and ethnic instruments line that is in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
