QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subject to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with keen, expert eyes. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and additionally are waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect tone of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive a custom sticker with a serial number, date, and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty, and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The shells of the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies, as well as careful attention to shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° bearing edge allows them to make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result of this solution is clean tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms provide quick attack and short sustain, while rounded edges on bass drums generate unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used to finish the Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug "floats" above the shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each features a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each has double protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting system

The non-intrusive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Bass drum lugs

The lugs on Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber washers that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, the lugs and rims form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Transparent, single-ply struck heads of high quality are used on the drums.

The resonant heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. In contrast, the resonant heads stand out with their characteristic vintage-style head featuring the distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion sticks and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion store DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments, in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
