A completely new edition of our prototype finish known as "Black Mamba" 🐍

I suspect one of the few in the world, if not the only waxed set in black opaque 100% flawless matte. This color was created as a result of 2 months of trial and error in our workshop. Sample after sample, we managed to achieve this color. It's not a thick opaque lacquer but a 100% natural coating 🎯 BD rim painted one-sided in black, milled for perfect color separation from the wood.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each piece of percussion upon unpacking is subjected to meticulous inspection and checked with a careful, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product, all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many music styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple layers, as well as a focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is a pure tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms produce fast attack and short decay, while rounded edges on bass drums generate unique warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and exceptional sound. The lacquer used on Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full frequency range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double security with metal and nylon washers, guaranteeing tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the unfortunate reputation of the brand from years past. Cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting System

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Bass Drum Hooks

The hooks on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and rims form one cohesive whole so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums feature clear, single-ply quality struck heads.

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide muffler collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments line, in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also win the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
