POLMUZ Model 1 MAPLE is manufactured with the highest precision in our workshop in Gdynia. Due to hand-finishing and high customer demand, the order fulfillment time is 1-3 months.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the top series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or irregularities in the set. Every drum component undergoes meticulous inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to deliver an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head—not to mention the ease of tuning and the perfect shell tone. Additionally, all drum hardware is inspected, because there's nothing more satisfying than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set components receive a custom sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If any defect or irregularity is found, the shell is manufactured anew.

WARRANTY

Every Polmuz shell, after successfully passing testing, receives a lifetime warranty, while the hardware used in Polmuz drums comes with a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are crafted from 6 plies of maple with a combined thickness of 4.8 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced midrange and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. Full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells are achieved through carefully selected maple plies, along with meticulous attention to shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45-degree edge cut ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, guaranteeing ideal head-to-shell contact. This results in clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms deliver quick attack and short sustain, while rounded edges on bass drums generate unique, warm vintage tone.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a distinctive appearance and unconventional sound. The lacquer used for finishing Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full sound spectrum. To minimize the risk of drums falling out of tune, each features a long screw deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—that guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest-quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and hallmark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Mounting system

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Bass drum spurs

The spurs on Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, spurs and hoops form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Drumheads

Transparent, single-ply high-quality batter heads are used on the drums.

Bass drum heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with facilities located at Grochowska 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also manufactured percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revitalize the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
