Polmuz Maple Snare 13x6,5 Dark Gold Sparkle

Snare drums from the revived Polmuz brand bear no resemblance to their prototypes from the last century. Today Polmuz is primarily bold design combined with proven and solid technologies, known from products of the best brands.

The Polmuz Maple snare drum corpus offers complete freedom in shaping the sound, excelling in every musical genre. The minimalist, old-school appearance of Polmuz drums references the brand's history and imparts a vintage character.

Groundbreaking, unconventional designs, high quality craftsmanship and convincing sound mean that today Polmuz tradition is being born anew!

Features

100% Maple shells

Snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high frequencies provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specifics of the wood impart a characteristic sound to the drums that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° angle cut on the edges allows them to contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear sound across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly - a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquer finish on Polmuz drums gives each kit a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier kits from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug uses a long screw that sits deep within the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated hardware

Polmuz drums feature all hardware finished with a chrome-plated coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz inscription is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Snare mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to tailor the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and springs

Polmuz drums feature coated, single-ply batter heads of high quality under the Polmuz branding. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic sound, free of unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring strap has been enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
