The snare drums of the revived Polmuz brand bear no resemblance to their prototypes from the last century. Today Polmuz is above all bold design combined with proven and solid technologies, known from the products of the best brands.

The Polmuz Maple snare body gives complete freedom in shaping the sound, proving itself in every musical genre. The minimalist, old-school appearance of Polmuz drums echoes the brand's history and gives them a vintage character.

Groundbreaking, unconventional designs, high quality craftsmanship and convincing sound make Polmuz tradition begin anew today!

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the top series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a careful, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before applying new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is manufactured anew.

Features

100% Maple Shells

The snare drums from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The specific nature of the wood gives the drums a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and pure sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° angle cut on the edges means they contact the head at an optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and lacquer application method corresponds to those used in top sets by recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of the drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each one has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality of materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome Polmuz lettering is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to tailor the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature coated, 1-ply strike heads of high quality under the Polmuz brand. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven 20-coil elements that work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a distinctive sound, free of unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe has been enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, and then disappeared completely from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments that are no different from the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
