Polmuz Maple Snare 12x9 Dark Gold Sparkle

The reactivated Polmuz snare drums bear no resemblance to their prototypes from the previous century. Today Polmuz is above all bold design combined with proven and solid technologies known from the products of the best brands.

The Polmuz Maple snare drum corpus provides complete freedom in shaping the sound, proving itself in every musical genre. The minimalist, old-school appearance of Polmuz drums references the brand's history and gives a vintage character.

Groundbreaking, unconventional designs, high manufacturing quality and convincing sound mean that Polmuz tradition is beginning anew!

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Every percussion element upon unpacking undergoes meticulous inspection and is checked with a keen, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product – all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of drum tuning and ideal shell tone. Additionally, all drum hardware is inspected as there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive an individual label with serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is made anew.

Features

100% Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The specifics of the wood give the drums a characteristic sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear tone of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers and focus on shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° angle on the edges means they contact the head at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clear tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snare drums generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly – unique, slightly vintage-sounding tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives every set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer correspond to those used in top sets of recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction means they look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole assembly to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each contains a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has dual security in the form of washers – metal and nylon – which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature coated, 1-ply strike heads of high quality under the Polmuz branding. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic tone, free from unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe is enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - the legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
