Features
Maple Shells
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility in many music styles. The specifics of the wood impart a characteristic sound to the drums that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies and attention to shell formation and edge shape.
Edges
The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of such a solution is clear sound across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for finishing Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. A gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of lacquer application corresponds to those used in top sets of renowned brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum body to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole assembly to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that seats deeply into the lug. Additionally, each one has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome-plated Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz drums is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz name is a guarantee and at the same time a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.
Snare Mechanism
Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and Snares
The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The snares used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Super 30, which work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
