Bubinga is Back Bubinga is an exceptionally acoustic wood that is dark and heavy, dense. It was unavailable for some time. Now it returns in full glory. Polmuz's proposal is a 5.4mm, 9ply Bubinga shell containing a 3.2mm Bubinga Focus ring for shortening the sound and eliminating unwanted overtones. A solution proven in many top-class classical snares. The wood has been framed in gold hardware, which looks great with bubinga. Additionally, the benefits include stainless steel mounting screws and stainless steel precision tuning keys. The entire drum is covered with indestructible high solid wax and polished. This guarantees the snare's usefulness for many years. EVANS Drumheads and Puresound springs complete the craftsmanship

POLMUZ model 1 is an instrument made entirely by hand in POLAND!

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities affecting the sound. Each percussion element is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, soldering eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product, all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and additionally are waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge unleashes joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before mounting a new drumhead, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitting lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual label with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is made anew.

Features

Bubinga shells

5.4mm, 9ply Bubinga shell containing a 3.2mm Bubinga Focus ring for shortening the sound and eliminating unwanted overtones. A solution proven in many top-class classical snares

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been polished and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the drumhead and the shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer applied to the finish of Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. Gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of applying the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-quality sets by renowned brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum tuning drift, each has a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each has dual protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Gold-plated hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome-plated coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks away from the disreputable reputation of the brand from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome-plated Polmuz inscription is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Drumheads and Springs

The drums are equipped with Evans HD Dry or Evans uno drumheads. The springs used in Polmuz snares are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with almost any resonant drumhead. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic sound, free of unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments, no different from the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
