Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Every element of the drum kit is subject to careful inspection and checked with an attentive, professional eye after unpacking. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all edges of the shells must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge sparks joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is inspected because there is nothing more pleasant than screws that turn smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is rebuilt.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The specifics of the wood give the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell shaping and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clear sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used to finish the Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets of recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has dual security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which ensure tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's disreputable past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chromium-plated Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-acting snare strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

Polmuz drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven PureSound Super 30, which work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments, in no way inferior to the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
