Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity affecting the sound. Every percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product, all edges of the drums must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the corpus. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive a sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If any defect or irregularity is detected, the corpus is remade.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The specific characteristics of the wood give the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected layers of maple, as well as careful attention to shell shaping and edge design.

Edges

The 45° angle cut on the edges ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been polished and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact of the head with the shell. The result of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in the top sets of recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one features a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship of every drum.

Snare Wire Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating snare wire mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans Uno heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a distinctive sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also win the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
