Quality and Professionalism
Every Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or irregularity affecting tone. Each percussion element undergoes meticulous inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning and the perfect resonance of the shell. All drum hardware is also checked, as nothing is more pleasant than smoothly seating screws in perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive a custom sticker with serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be detected, the shell is remade.
Features
Maple Shells
The snare shells in the Maple series are crafted from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. Sound was the highest priority in designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The wood's specific character imparts a distinctive tone you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple plies and meticulous attention to shell forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45° edge cut ensures optimal contact with the head. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The stunning matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize this model's exceptional nature, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using inlay technique. The lacquer composition and application method match those used on top-tier sets from recognized brands.
Tube Lugs
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. This unique Tube Lug design looks like traditional lugs, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the shell to resonate fully across its entire tonal range. To minimize tuning instability, each lug features a long screw that seats deeply into the lug itself. Additionally, each lug has dual security with both metal and nylon washers, guaranteeing tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.
Snare Mechanism
Polmuz snare drums feature a smooth-operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize tone depending on your needs.
Heads and Snares
The drums are equipped with Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The snare wires used in Polmuz snares are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with nearly every resonant head. They produce the distinctive tone characteristic of these drums, free from unwanted overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - the legendary brand that produced Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factory located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced rattles and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which the brand completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that rival the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly capture not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
