Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, drummaking eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product, all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws that turn smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive an individual sticker with serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming high drum quality. In the event of a defect or irregularity, the shell is remade.

Features

Maple shells

Snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The nature of the wood gives the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge bevel ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clear sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

Polmuz drums' lacquered finish gives each set a unique appearance and exceptional sound. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets of recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire assembly to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each lug features a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks away from the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz lettering is both a guarantee and a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Drumheads and snares

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO drumheads. The snare wires used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Super 30, which work perfectly with nearly every resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum produces a distinctive sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factory was located at Grochowska 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 90s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
