Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the kit. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a discerning, experienced eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product – all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge unleashes joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the ideal tone of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitting lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual kit components receive a personalized sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is remade.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was tone. Balanced midrange and high frequencies provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specifics of the wood give the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean tone of the shells is achieved through carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge bevel ensures they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is pure tone across the full frequency range.

Finish

Polmuz drums feature a lacquered finish that gives each kit a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using an inlay method. The lacquer composition and application method corresponds to those used in top-tier kits from recognized brands.

Tube Lugs

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire kit to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double security with metal and nylon washers, which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the tone depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums are equipped with Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates characteristic tone, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team at the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring complete rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality percussion kits and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
