Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product - all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge unleashes joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before putting on a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set components receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is remade.
Features
Maple shells
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The wood's characteristics give the drums a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple plies and focus on shell forming and edge shape.
Edges
The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drum head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result of this solution is pure tone across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer correspond to those used in top sets from recognized brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of tuning slipping, each lug features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome hardware
In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass, the chrome Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.
Strainer
Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
Polmuz drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.
Today Polmuz offers high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competing products. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
