Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the kit. Each element of the drum kit is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, experienced eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all shell edges must be perfectly even and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head—not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the ideal sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual kit elements receive a sticker with serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high frequencies provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specific characteristics of the wood impart a distinctive sound to these drums, which you won't experience in any other snare drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° bevel on the edges ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each kit a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and lacquer application method correspond to those used in top-tier kits from recognized brands.

Tube Lugs

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums losing tuning, each lug features a long screw that sits deep within it. Additionally, each lug has dual protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-Plated Hardware

On Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome-plated coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship on every drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to fine-tune the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum produces a characteristic tone, free from unwanted overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz is a high-quality percussion kit and ethnic instrument manufacturer that matches the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
