Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each piece of percussion is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge triggers joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the drum shell is manufactured again.

Features

Maple shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many music styles. The specificity of the wood gives the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and pure sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell shaping and edge profile.

Edges

The 45° bevel on the edges means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result of this solution is a clear, full-frequency response sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for finishing Maple drums from Polmuz is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of applying the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep within it. Additionally, each is protected by a double security system featuring metal and nylon washers that guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks away from the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz drum shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship on each drum.

Snare mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-acting snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and springs

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound free of unnecessary overtones.

About the brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they disappeared from the market completely. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing all rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments line that matches the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
