Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before tuning a new head, not to mention the ease of drum tuning and the perfect shell tone. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because nothing is more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.
Features
Maple Shells
Snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high frequencies ensure great versatility across many music styles. The wood's characteristics give the drums a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple plies and attention to shell forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been carefully sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. This solution results in clear tone throughout the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, matte, clear lacquer will satisfy even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, an ornamental stripe is applied around its entire circumference using an inlay method. The lacquer composition and application method correspond to those used in top-tier sets from respected brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire assembly to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize tuning issues, each lug features a long screw that seats deep within it. Additionally, each lug has dual protection in the form of metal and nylon washers, which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums features a chrome finish. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.
Snare Wires
Polmuz snare drums are equipped with smoothly operating snare wires. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs on Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Super 30, which work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare produces a distinctive sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced noisemakers and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, a team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competing products. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also win the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
