Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities affecting the sound. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with careful, professional eyes. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product. All edges of the drum shells must be perfectly straight and smooth, and additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge sparks joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head—not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect resonance of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws that turn smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive a custom label with a serial number, date, and hand-signed confirmation of the drum's high quality. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.
Features
Maple shells
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple, with a total thickness of 5 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specific nature of the wood gives the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies, as well as careful attention to shell forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45-degree edge cut ensures optimal contact with the drum head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is pure tone across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer applied to the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The beautiful, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The lacquer composition and application method correspond to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug mounting hardware is characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each has a long screw that seats deeply into the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome-plated hardware
On Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship on every drum.
Strainer
Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and springs
The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced marching percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.
Today Polmuz produces high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz a storming success not only on the Polish percussion market, but also in the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
