Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defects affecting the sound. Every element of the drum kit is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unboxing and checked with a careful, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product; all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head—not to mention the ease of drum tuning and the perfect shell resonance. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive a custom sticker with a serial number, date, and handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is remade.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The wood's characteristics impart a distinctive sound to the drums that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple layers and attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

A 45-degree edge cut ensures optimal contact with the head. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone throughout the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each kit a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created around its entire circumference using inlay method. The composition and lacquer application method corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of tuning instability, each lug features a long screw that sits deep within it. Additionally, each has dual protection in the form of both metal and nylon washers, which guarantee tuning stability.

Chromeplated Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with chromeplated coating. The beautiful appearance conveys the feeling of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Snare Strainer

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly functioning snare strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads are used on the drums. The springs applied in Polmuz snares are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work excellently with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic sound, free from unwanted overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at ul. Grochowska 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum kits and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
