Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz model 1 is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity affecting the sound. Every percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect resonance of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect is found, the shell is remade.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum bodies in the Maple series are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. Sound was the highest priority in designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specific nature of the wood gives the drums a characteristic sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells is achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45-degree angle cut on the edges means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The result is clear sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and exceptional sound. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer correspond to those used in top sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the whole instrument to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's checkered reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of every drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-operating strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snares are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually every resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free of unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand manufacturing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska 75/77 street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing the complete rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also capture the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
